Borneo Express Car Rental in Kota Kinabalu city provides rental cars from KKIA, KKIA Terminal 2, KK city and in airports around Sabah. Their website was built in early 2012, we changed it from a simple html website into an online booking website. Imagine our surprise when it started generating online booking straight away!
This just goes to prove that if you have a service that customers want, you have to provide them a way to buy it online. That is where the customers are right now, and it is where competitors are going to be.
Building The Website
This website project was brought to me by a third party. At that time, the website could not be found on the search engines for the keywords they wanted. Besides, the website itself looked old and was not doing anything for their business.
It took about 3 months before we proceeded with the build, they were looking for various options and to see what was possible. By the time they agreed to give me the project, it was almost the last days of 2011.

Building a car rental website is not easy, that is why you do not see many car rental websites in Sabah. Not insurmountable, but not everyone has access to what is required.

The Time It Took To Build This Website
This website took about 3 weeks to build, and another week to finalized. There was quite a lot more testing that was required, some custom coding, and lots of photos and information. The legal information had to be written – terms of use, rentals, emails and payment method.
Then there is always the wait for the client to give me the photos and details about the business. If they operate all over Sabah, there is inevitable some time lag before the information comes back. Sometimes clients do not realize that they have to prepare digital copies before I can get started.
Borneo Express Car Rental Website – Final Results A Success
How do you define success? When a client goes on to generate 6 figure sales from their website – that is a success! For reasons of confidentiality, I can only say that this is the first time I have seen such sales figures from a website.
